Love, Peace, & Hair Grease
I had originally sat down Friday to create this all in one day but a nap got in the way. So, I'm hoping to have this finished up tomorrow, but I don't know what tomorrow brings yet so I thought I'd post my sketch and process thus far (see below). I've had this in my sketchbook for quite a while and when I saw this week's Illustration Friday theme, (peace) this popped back in my head. It's entitled: Love, Peace and Hair Grease. I guess it could also be, oddly enough, a little Ode to James Brown too.
Above is my original sketch, and this is my messy sketch over it to get my placement nailed down and to see what will be clay and what will be background:
Here's the kind of clay I start with:
*Notice the little thumb? The Woog snatched up the clay to make a snake.
Here's a few sculpted and baked pieces:
*Sorry for the blurry image. The Woog was shaking the table making her snake :)
Here's my background in mid-completion:
Check back for the final piece!

Oh, and I wanted to mention that I was tagged by Ginger with a meme that I had already posted. I was going to do a new one and see what new answers I came up with, but everything was the same as last time - I'm not very exciting :) Thanks Ginger!!
